Where the sand is open
Land-based shark fishing in South Florida runs on city time windows, and the Broward beaches we fish open to anglers at 6 p.m. We treat the table below like a tide chart: it decides where the rods go tonight.
The law sends you out at night — exactly when the giants feed.
Hallandale Beach

The closest of our night beaches to Miami, just over the county line. Fishing in the swim areas opens at 6 p.m.
Hollywood Beach
Broward
6:00 PM – 9:00 AM
Shore fishing runs evening to morning. The beach empties, the lights come on behind you, the bite turns on in front.
Dania Beach
Broward
6:00 PM – 9:00 AM
Legal outside the 9-to-6 swimming day, and at least 100 yards from the pier.
Fort Lauderdale Beach

6:00 PM – 8:00 AM
A full night window on one of the country's best-known beaches. Rods go out once it's dark.
Miami Beach & Sunny Isles Beach
Closed
Land-based shark fishing is banned on both. We don't fish them, and we never fish from piers.

Closes at sunset
County and city parks that close at sunset, so they're off our night list.

Dec – Feb
The blacktip migration stacks bait and sharks along the beaches. Cool water, big schools, steady action within casting distance of the sand.
Spring
Mar – May
Hammerheads follow the tarpon up the coast. They're protected and never the target. When one picks up a bait meant for a blacktip, we keep the fight short and cut her loose in the shallows.
Summer
Jun – Aug
Bulls and nurse sharks work the warm, calm surf. Flat water makes it easy to get baits out, and you can let a bait soak as long as it takes.
Fall
Sep – Nov
The baitfish flush pours down the coast and everything eats. Mullet on the beach usually means sharks behind them.
None of this is guaranteed. Sharks move on bait, water temperature, and moon, so every trip gets planned around what the water is doing that week.
